I guess I lied when I said last time that "I'm probably done making new maps for now." I made some maps for the March contest. I didn't enter previous contests because I wasn't making maps at the time or was only making shaman maps. But lately I've been making regular maps so I'm getting lots of ideas.

The contest this month seems to reward originality, so I think I have a decent chance in each of the four categories. I'm happy with all the maps, anyway. Voting begins in a couple days so I won't release pictures/code until then. And because I want to post my maps in order I won't show any of the other new ones until then, either.

There was an update last Sunday that changed a few things. Planks were broken for a few days, we basically couldn't play in the shaman room. That's been fixed but the other changes are still here. The first is that every mouse seems to be sync. It's harder to fall out of cages (like on Map 42 Roller Coaster) and blocks can be in different places to different mice (like on Map 77 Draggable Ice). I guess this is nice in some ways, but it ruins a lot of my maps. Basically, one mouse sees a button being pressed but the other doesn't, so the trap or whatever springs for some people but not others. My freestyle map for the contest is a puzzle and the couple of times I played it with other mice it was chaos. I'm sure my other puzzles are like that too, now.

The other change is that dynamic blocks don't die anymore. They used to vanish at the same points where shaman objects did, but now they keep going. Ctg found that they do stop, but only when their edge (not center) is at Y=3000 or similar. And beyond some point grounds don't stop large dynamic blocks from moving... It's all very strange. Anyway, this ruins a lot of my maps too.
